Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Landlords: PaTMa is HMRC-Recognised and Ready

The government’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) scheme is creeping closer to reality for landlords and we’ve got good news.

PaTMa has officially passed HMRC’s recognition checks (again!) and been granted production access for MTD submissions. That means when MTD for Income Tax kicks in, you can submit everything through PaTMa, no third-party faff, no extra software, no stress.

What is MTD (and do I need to worry)?

MTD stands for Making Tax Digital, it’s HMRC’s plan to replace yearly tax returns with more frequent digital updates. The rollout is happening in stages based on total income (not profit). Eventually all landlords with over £20,000 in income from property and sole trader sources combined will be required to:

  • Keep digital records
  • Submit quarterly summaries to HMRC
  • File a final year-end declaration

Why PaTMa landlords don’t need to panic

This is the second time PaTMa has passed HMRC’s MTD checks, we were first granted production access back in 2023, but the rollout delays meant we paused development.

Now we’re back, re-verified, and fully approved again, ready to support MTD submissions directly from your PaTMa account as soon as they’re needed.
