Property Monitors

Overview

Property monitors allow you to save a set of search criteria and automatically receive email notifications every time a new property matches those criteria.

The email notifications are optional - you can also just save the search for manual review.

Create a Monitor

Monitors are set up from a Property Search.

After filtering your reseults to the criteria you need, click Monitor for changes.

You'll be prompted to set up the monitor:

  • Label - your reference for the search; we recomend you use something relevant to the search (ie: the criteria you used).
  • Email notifications - enable to receive emails about properties within your search criteria.
  • Notifications search type - notifications can be sent either when new properties are added that match your crtiera, or for both new listings and changes to existing ones. If emails are disabled this setting doesn't affect anything.
  • Send as CSV - enable to have results sent as a .csv (spreadsheet). If emails are disabled this setting doesn't affect anything.

Click Save to set up the monitor.

Working with Monitors

Your property monitors are stored in the Property Monitor Overview.

Each one is shown with the label you gave it, along with the main criteria used for filtering (just in case you didn't take our advice on what to name it!).

The email status of the monitor is displayed as Enabled for emails on, Disabled if you opted out of emails.

You can also run, delete, or edit each monitor using the icons on the right.

The magnifiying glass icon will open the search that's used for the monitor - effectively a saved search.

Delete Monitor

The trashcan will permanently delete the monitor. PaTMa does not store a backup so you'll need to set up a new monitior if you decide you need the same criteria again later.

In some cases you may prefer to disable emails and leave the monitor in place, which you can do from the edit menu.

Edit Monitor

You can edit the name of a monitor and the notification settings - enable or disable emails, along with the notification type and the format of the email.

If you no longer need a monitor but might use it again at some point, disabling emails will effectively disable the monitor.
